Anthem Independence Day Celebration
When: Mon July 3, 2017 6pm – 10pm
Where: ACC Community Park, 41703 N Gavilan Peak Pkwy, Anthem, AZ 85086 (map)
Description: Thousands of people Valley-wide come together to celebrate the annual Anthem Independence Day Celebration. Along with the traditional fireworks display, fun rides, activities and festival food, families bring blankets and lawn chairs and sit back to enjoy the spectacular event. Arrive by 4:00 pm to assist with setup and plan to stay for an hour after the event for tear down. We will be the event first aid station, offer free blood pressure checks and talk to visitors about disaster preparedness. Please wear your CERT uniform. You may bring dinner and snacks or purchase them there.

Ignite the Night

When:
Saturday, August 26, 2017
Time: Cocktails 6:00 pm

Description: Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities Annual Ignite the Night Awards and Fundraiser Banquet. Each year our Charity comes together for one night to recognize members and partnerships for their outstanding service, friends and families unite, and raise money for our Charity. We recognize those who have gone above and beyond and hold a raffle for items generously donated by local businesses. The money raised will be used to help people in need within the community.
Tickets:$50 per person, but DMFD Employees and DMFDCC volunteers and family members receive a discounted ticket price of $25 per person.

CERT Training
When: 8 consecutive Thursday evenings beginning September 7, 2017.

(You must attend all 8 sessions to receive a certificate of completion. There is also a ninth evening of class for anyone who needs to makeup a missed class.)

Description: Daisy Mountain Fire Department is proud to present Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training. Developed by the Department of Homeland Security for Local Community Preparedness, this 24 hours of training is provided FREE of charge. This class is tailored to the Phoenix metro area and more specifically, the Daisy Mountain communities. Training is open to anyone who is at least 18 years old. Space is limited register today.

Shopping Extravaganza at Outlets at Anthem
Where: Outlets at Anthem, 4250 W Anthem Way, Phoenix, AZ 85086
Description: This limited-admission charity fundraising event features one-day-only offers, a special shopper lunch, wine, dessert bar and opportunities to win several fantastic prizes, including more than $30,000 worth of gift cards from Outlets at Anthem’s participating retailers. The proceeds of this event benefits 25 Phoenix based charitable and non-profit organizations. Last year’s event raised more than $40,000 for well-deserving organizations in the Valley. DMFDCC has partnered with the Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities for this event. We need to sell 50 tickets and need volunteers to help with our portion of the partnership for the event.

     #1) Pre Event Preparation -- Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
            Help is needed to stuff participant bags and other event preparation tasks. 
     #2) Event Day -- Saturday, September 23, 2017 -- 9:00 am to 16:00 noon
            When you arrive, check in with any DMFD firefighter at the tent located on the north side of the 
            Food Court. You may bring your own snacks and drinks,or purchase them there.

  • You will then come to a pink page with a long list of available slots. Please note that there are 2 dates that volunteers are needed.
  • Click on the slot that you would like to volunteer for and then click the big pink button that says "Submit and sign up". You can sign up for several slots at the same time. Please make sure that you are not overlapping time-wise.
  • A page labeled "Sign Me Up For:" comes up and you click on one of the options presented. When you are done entering your information, click on "Sign Up Now!".
  • Make sure to put charity name. IMPORTANT – The charity name is: Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities] {spelled out) in the memo line so they know who you are volunteering for.
  • You will then get a verification page with the slots that you have signed up for and an option to add to your calendar.
  • Your sign up generates a registration e-mail, and will also send you a reminder two days before the event.

Anthem Autumnfest
When: Sat Oct 21, 2017 10am – 5pm

Description: Anthem residents and visitors from far and wide will come together to celebrate all things fall at Autumnfest. This family-friendly event celebrates the season with fall-flavored festivities including arts & crafts vendors, carnival rides, pumpkin picking and live entertainment. Arrive by 9:00 am to assist with setup and plan to stay for an hour after the event for tear down. Veterans Parades

When: Two parades on Sat November 4, 2017

We're going to be participating in two parades, The Daisy Mountain Veterans Parade in Anthem during the morning, and the VFW Post 1796 Parade in Black Canyon City during the afternoon. When you register (see link below) indicate which parade or both you'll be participating in.

Daisy Mountain Veterans Parade in Anthem
Time: 8 am to Noon
Where: TENTATIVE Staging Area, Cross of Christ Church, 39808 N. Gavilan Peak Pkwy (far east parking lot), Anthem, AZ 85086 NOTE: This staging area is subject to change up to a week prior to the event.
Description: Please arrive by 8:00 am to help setup and decorate the Mule, Suburban and trailer. The parade starts promptly at 10:00 am, rain or shine. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks with you, access to commercially prepared food will be limited. Wear your CERT uniform. After the parade, we will return to the staging area to remove the decorations and load everything. Parking is on your own, you will not be able to park in the staging area.  

VFW Post 1796 Parade in Black Canyon City
Time: 13:00 to 17:30
Where: Meet at Fire Station 146, 3116 W New River Rd, New River AZ 85087

Description: Please arrive by 13:00, we'll all ride together in the Suburban to Black Canyon City. Check-in is from 13:00 to 14:30, and the parade starts promptly at 15:00. Since decorations from the morning parade can't stay on the vehicles during travel, we'll need to redecorate while in staging prior to the start. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks with you, access to commercially prepared food will be limited. Wear your CERT uniform. After the parade, we'll stop to remove decorations for travel then return to Fire Station 146 to put the trailer away.

CPR Training
When: Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 6pm – 10pm
Where: Daisy Mountain Fire Department, 43814 N New River Road, New River, AZ 85087 (map)
Description: CPR and AED for the Community and Workplace, utilizing the American Safety and Health Institute curriculum and certified instructors. Class format is partially lecture and partially practical (hands-on). Completion of the course requires students to demonstrate proficiency on mannequins while on the floor and a short written test. Satisfactory completion of the course entitles you to a certificate valid for two years from date of completion. Registration is required. Space is limited (min: 8 students; max 25 students). The cost is $25 per student, due at the start of class, payable with exact change or check made payable to Daisy Mountain Fire Department, but is free to DMFD Citizen Corps Volunteers. NOTE: If you require CPR for the Healthcare Professional this is not the correct class for you.
