First Aid Training
When: 
Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 6pm – 10pm
Where: Daisy Mountain Fire Station 141, 43814 N New River Road, New River, AZ 85087 (map)
Description: First Aid for the Community and Workplace, utilizing the American Safety and Health Institute curriculum and certified instructors. Class format is partially lecture and partially practical (hands-on). Completion of the course requires students to demonstrate proficiency of skills presented in class and a short written test. Satisfactory completion of the course entitles you to a certificate valid for two years from date of completion. Registration is required. Space is limited (min: 8 students; max 25 students). The cost is $25 per student, due at the start of class, payable with exact change or check made payable to Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical, but is free to DMFD Citizen Corps Volunteers.

Arizona State Citizen Council Meeting

Description: 
Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical Citizen Corps is hosting the Arizona State Citizen Corps Council annual in-person meeting on Friday, November 15th. This is a statewide event and an opportunity for DMFMCC to interact with peers, volunteers and managers alike. Please wear your CERT uniform. Arrive at admin by 07:30 for setup and plan to finish about 16:30. Registration must be received by October 22nd. Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical 30-Year Anniversary Open House
When: Saturday, November 16, 2019 - 10:00 – 14:00
Where: Daisy Mountain Fire Station 142, 41104 N Daisy Mountain Dr, Anthem, AZ 85086 
Description: 
Join Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical in celebrating our 30-Year Anniversary with an Open House. Visit us on this special day to celebrate and reminisce about how far we've come and how things have changed over the last 30 years. Take time for a tour of our newly remodeled fire station and an up close look at some of our fire trucks. This is a free, family friendly event. Please wear your CERT uniform. Arrive at admin by 07:30 for setup and plan to finish about 16:30.

Tree Lighting Festival at Outlets at Anthem 
When: Sat, November 16, 2019 - 15:00 – 22:00
Where: Outlets at Anthem, 4250 W Anthem Way, Phoenix, AZ 85086
Description: The first Tree Lighting Festival will take place on Saturday, November 16. Join us for a day of holiday entertainment at the North Pole Express (between Children’s Place & Polo) Penguin Peaks (Tot Lot area) and Holiday Village (Pavilion One near the Big Tree). Family fun will include face painters, holiday crafts, meet and greets with the Grinch, Elsa and Anna and Olaf, a petting zoo and SANTA! Holiday Village will also feature an interactive music show for our littlest shoppers as well as holiday vendors selling unique holiday merchandise and crafts. CERT will be the event first aid station. Please wear your CERT uniform. Bring your own dinner and snacks, or purchase them there.
IMPORTANT NOTES: This event is immediately following the DMFM 30th Anniversary Open House, so as soon as possible afterwards we will depart from 142 for the mall. The format of this event will be different this year and as of this posting all details are still undetermined.

Prickly Pedal Mountain Bike Event
When: Saturday, January 18, 2020 - 6:00 – 15:00
Where: Kunasek Trailhead alo
ng the Spear S trail at Linda Lane and New River Rd. LOCATION IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. 
Description: Featuring a race course approximately 40-miles long, the Prickly Pedal Mountain Bike Race showcases the Maricopa Trail diversity. Aggressive ascents and descents, grinding it out on the flats, rocks, water, sand, mud, and roller coaster runs are all part of the fun. Beginning in Cave Creek and ending at Lake Pleasant, the course winds through the northern section of the Maricopa Trail including Anthem and Desert Hills. More than 300 riders are expected to participate. Racers and volunteers will have free entry into the After-Party and Award Ceremonies from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The After-Party will include refreshments, a free raffle ticket, a beer garden, live music and a free kids race at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Racers can check their bikes into a secure bike corral at the After Party while the shuttle takes them to retrieve their vehicles at the start line. DMFM CERT's responsibilities will be to staff a feed (refreshment) station, first aid station and assist with accountability for the riders using amateur radio. If there are enough volunteers we will staff an additional station. A DMFM Brush Truck will provide additional support.
