Type 3 Standards


Volunteers who meet all Type 5, Type 4 and Type 3 requirements may, at their sole discretion, volunteer for events and incidents inside and outside the Daisy Mountain Fire District.

CPR/AED - Curriculum Requirements: Only nationally recognized curriculum are accepted. This includes; American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) presented by Daisy Mountain Fire Department - Typically presented in May and November; American Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross. Your choice of Basic or Healthcare curriculum are acceptable. Prerequisite: None - Renewal Requirement: Training is valid for two years from date of completion, however DMFDCC policy requires certification to be valid through 12/31 of the credentialed year. In order to meet that requirement, this training must be completed annually. Proficiency: Satisfactory completion of this course requires students to vigorously demonstrate skills while working from a kneeling position on the floor, and complete a written test with a minimum score of 70%.

First Aid - Curriculum Requirements: Only nationally recognized curriculum are accepted. This includes; American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) presented by Daisy Mountain Fire Department - Typically presented in May and NovemberAmerican Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross. Your choice of Basic or Advanced curriculum are acceptable. Other advanced medical training such as EMT-B, EMT-P, RN, and MD may be substituted provided those credentials are current with the Arizona Department of Health Services and the holder understands that DMFDCC policy restricts that individuals scope of practice to First Responder regardless of their training or experience. Prerequisite: None - Renewal Requirement: Training is valid for two years from date of completion, however DMFDCC policy requires certification to be valid through 12/31 of the credentialed year. In order to meet that requirement, this training must be completed annually. The exception is a higher level of credential. Proficiency: Satisfactory completion of this course requires students to demonstrate skills and complete a written test with a minimum score of 70%.

Crime Scene Preservation - Prerequisite: None - Renewal Requirement: None, but periodic review is encouraged

IS-200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents - Prerequisite: IS-100 and IS-700 - Renewal Requirement: None, but periodic review is encouraged.

IS-800 National Response Framework, An Introduction - Prerequisite: None - Renewal Requirement: None, but periodic review is encouraged.

Immunizations or Waiver - Prerequisite: Must be completed by all Type 3 through Type 1 volunteers. - Renewal Requirement: None, NOTES: This is required documentation, not training. Please read the entire document, complete in its entirety, and email the completed document to CitizenCorps@DMFD.org.
